LIVE Virtual Workshops are here!

In this intimate virtual workshop setting, you’ll learn the art of Modern Calligraphy from the comfort of your home, while connecting with a small group of students, creating together virtually. During the LIVE session, you’ll be able to ask questions and interact with other students during the workshop, just as we would at an in-person class. My goal is to bring you the same attentive experience you’d receive at one of my regular classes.

During the workshop, you'll explore and practice the tools and proper techniques of modern pointed pen calligraphy. You'll learn how to properly hold a calligraphy pen, gain an understanding of pen strokes, creating beautiful letterforms, controlling the pen, and connecting letters. In this class, you will also get an introduction to composition and styling, and personal instruction and feedback from Angi, so you can walk away with all the tools you need for developing your skill and style.

Prior to the LIVE Virtual Workshop, you will receive:
- Digital Downloads to print at home (includes- basic stroke worksheets, practice alphabet exemplars with worksheets, and tips and techniques for reference)

• If you don’t have supplies, you can select an add-on or purchase the signature calligraphy supply kit:

• + notepad only (you’ll receive the physical workbook if you prefer not to print the worksheets)

• + basic supply set (you’ll receive the physical workbook + pen staff + pot of ink + 1 nib)

• If you order any add-ons, be sure to order ahead with ample shipping time! Available for domestic US shipping only due to shipping time constraints.

How the Live Workshop will work:

The workshop will be held live online through Zoom, a video chat platform. Once you register, you will be emailed information with recommended supplies and a specific link for the online Zoom chat. Materials and supplies for the workshop can be purchased along with your registration if desired. We’ll gather together during the specified workshop time where you’ll get to learn and practice for 3 hours and engage with others online while in the comfort of your own home! Going live means that I can provide real time feedback and answers to your questions!

*Please note, you will ONLY receive digital guides, for you to print at home, unless you purchase the physical workbook or a calligraphy kit separately (please order well in advance for ample shipping time - USPS does not guarantee ship times). A a pen/tool recommendation list will also be provided so you can feel confident you have everything you need going into the class.

*Technical requirements*
Please ensure you have all of the below requirements prior to the LIVE Virtual Workshop:
- Reliable High-speed internet connection
- Webcam (optional) if you would like me to see your work and provide feedback
- Microphone (optional) if you would like to ask questions during the class; however you can type the questions in the chat area too during the class

- A distraction-free low volume environment during the workshop session
- Access to a computer

- Tools for calligraphy:

• calligraphy paper (HP Premium Laser, Canson Marker Paper, Rhodia)

• oblique pen staff (straight pen for lefties)

• pointed nib (Nikko G, Hunt 101, Zebra G)

• calligraphy ink (sumi, walnut)

We’ll begin the LIVE virtual session with a few minutes to chat and get settled, feel free to BYOB for a relaxing, fun morning making beautiful things!

Workshop tickets are not refundable. If you aren’t able to make it to the workshop for any reason, you will have access to the recorded class for three weeks after the date.
